ART
Art is taught as an exploratory subject with a strong emphasis on creative thinking, problem solving, and the manipulation of art materials. The curriculum is planned to provide a broad range of experiences, student options and instruction that assists students in dealing with increasingly sophisticated tools and materials, and that supports progressively complex concepts and activities. Studio in Art Grade Level: 9-12 Prerequisite: None. Studio in Art is recommended as a foundation course for students electing to take art for the first time. Students will work creatively with a broad range of materials and techniques, including ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, “threads,” drawing, painting and printmaking. Exploration in the areas of photography, film, fashion design, and other areas of personal interest may be additional choices. One semester course. .5 credits
