HOME & CAREERS Food & Nutrition Core #6601 20 Weeks – Local Grade Level: 9-12 (FD/NUT Core). Prerequisite: None. This course is a required part of all Food and Nutrition Cluster, human Development Cluster and Home and Personal Management Cluster Sequences. Content of the course includes nutrition awareness, meal management and food purchasing, food preparation, meal service and related career exploration. A state examination must be passed for sequence credit. .5 credits
Food Preparation & Nutrition - #6602 20 Weeks - Local Grade Level: 9-12 (FD/PRE/NUT). Prerequisite: None. This course provides a more in-depth study of the concepts of Food and Nutrition Core. Students will be administered a citywide final examination. .5 credits
International and Regional Foods - #6609 20 Weeks – Local Grade Level: 10-12 (INT/REG FDS) Prerequisite: None. This course leads to greater understanding of meal patterns of various countries and regions. Content of this course includes preparing and evaluating foods and career exploration. Students will be administered a citywide final examination. .5 credits.
