EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

 

Academic Eligibility For Sports &

Extracurricular Activities

           

The Board of Education has adopted an academic eligibility policy for participating in interscholastic sports and other extracurricular activities.  The following is a brief explanation.

 

1.   Eligible

 

a.      Maintains a C average.

b.      Demonstrates good school citizenship.

c.      Maintains a 90% daily school and class attendance.

 

2.   On Probation – 5 Weeks

a.      Has a C average (2.00-2.99) with one E.

b.      Has below a C average and no E’s.

c.      One 5-week Interim Report must have earned a C average with no E’s to be able to    continue in sport and/or extracurricular activities.

d.      Demonstrates good citizenship.

e.      Maintains 90% daily school and class attendance.

 

3.      Ineligible – 5 Weeks

a.      Has a C average and two or more E’s

b.      Has below a C average and at least one E,

c.      Does not demonstrate good school citizenship,

d.      Does not maintain 90% daily school and class attendance

e.      Cannot practice for sports or participate in extracurricular activate for 5 weeks.

f.        On 5-Week Interim report, must have:

      i.      Earned a C average with no E’s

      ii.      Demonstrated good school citizenship, and

      iii.      Maintained 90% daily school and class attendance in order to become eligible.

 

Note:  Study hall is required for those students not eligible and who wish to participate.  Every two weeks, grades are checked, and with a 2.0 average with no E’s is required to play in games.
